Yeast starters

If I use one of the yeast smack packs in a starter should I just give it a smack and pitch it into some pre made wort?

Yes.
I always do (but you don't have to smack it) The yeast is in the outer pack and the inside pouch that you smack is yeast nutrients designed to boost and start the yeast up.

Oh! I get it. The stir bar is supposed to be poured into the carboy along with the starter.

They left a few minor details out but it still a help for those that have never seen it 's done.
Did he smack the pack?
