Wesselman Wondering Owl Wine & Beer Trail: Oct 16, 3-6 p.m.

Post by Michael Erwin » Mon Sep 20, 2010 4:13 pm

I see this on the calendar, and I just got an email regarding it from Wesselman. Are we serving beer at this event?

Can you send me a copy of the email? I know they are expecting me to participate, but they have never sent me any details.

OVHA is also planning to serve beer.

This was brought up at the July meeting and we had enough volunteers who said they would help with this event. I think they plan on being at our September meeting to ask and answer any questions.
I know this is there first time to have beer at the Wondering Owl event and they are looking to us to help make sure they have what we need.
I talked to them last week and they didn't know we need ice and electric.

This should be a fun event much like the Brew at the Zoo.

It was an email they sent to their emailing list, promoting ticket sales. What's your email, Jack? I'll send it to you. The basic info is on the website.

The recent email had us listed as "Ohio Valley Brewers Association." I emailed them back our correct name. Hopefully it will be corrected in the rest of the advertising.

Just for information:

Webpage announcement: http://www.wesselmannaturesociety.org/e ... ng-owl.php

Registration form: http://www.wesselmannaturesociety.org/P ... ng-Owl.pdf

It appears that they made the correction that Chris noted.

I talked to Stephanie yesterday & told her I would set up betwenn 1:30 & 2:00. They will have about 300 pounds of ice for OVHA & Turonis. I told her that should be plenty. I havn't decided if I'm bringing a jockey box or my cart. Is OVHA using their cart or the 7 tap jockey box? I may need some help transporting equipment to Wesselman.

I don't have a truck but I will help you.
I would like to use the cart if we have the labor and transportation.

I can't make the woods.
Jack would it be ok if I dropped off some beer at the brewery? I know I'm only adding to the load you need help carting.
You gonna buy one, or be one?

I'm not exactly sure where we will be but it might not be possible to roll the big cart to our location. They do have a couple of access gates. It just depends on where we are. I have a truck and can take stuff.

Where did the banners and brochures and cards end up? We'll need those and if whoever has them is not coming I can come get them from you.

I'm not sure who committed us to the event but I would be willing to contact them on our behalf to find out the location and logistics. I just need to contact info.

I kegged the spiced persimmon ale tonight and I can bring a wit or two if needed. I'm also making root beer. Possibly a maple root beer. I'll do some taste tests before I commit the whole batch!

Who else is coming or supplying beer? I have a signup somewhere from the meeting. I think.

I know I have some bottles of Kolsch and Brown Ale I can bring. I have to check my kegs I think I have Oatmeal stout, Smoked Porter and maybe a wheat I can bring.
I have a keg of the Clubs Ole Ale carbonated and ready.
Is someone bringing the Clubs Bourbon Barrel Ole Ale?
If not, I have a keg but it isn't carbonated yet. I can start tomorrow and force carbonate it if we are going to need it.

I do know that Stephanie is the person at Wesselmans that is running the event, You might give her a call about our setup area.
