Volunteers Needed: Indiana State Fair Brewers Cup Booth

Indiana Brewers,

The Brewers Guild of Indiana is seeking the help of homebrewers across the state. Each year, the winners of the Brewers Cup (both homebrewers and professionals) are displayed in a booth at the Indiana State Fair. This is great as it brings some excellent exposure and awareness to craft and home brewing in the state, BUT… we are apparently one of the only booths that does not have a live person (or people) staffing it. That’s where YOU come in.

The Guild would like to staff the booth with homebrewers, who are passionate about brewing and willing to talk about it for a few hours. You get free admission into the fair the day that you volunteer and the Brewers Guild will provide a special gift to your homebrew club (if applicable). Rita Kohn (True Brew author) is actually heading up this effort, but I’m helping to get the word out. I also set up a Google doc spreadsheet you can use to sign-up for any open time slots. You can sign up for multiple days and multiple sessions as long as they are open (I signed up for a few sessions myself, which can also serve as an example of how to sign up). Be part of the Brewers of Indiana Guild and Homebrewers exhibit at the Indiana State Fair, August 6 - 22. Help make 2010 the most vibrant experience possible for people who stop by the Craft Beer Exhibit in the Ball State Agriculture-Horticulture [Ag-Hort] Building (Our booth is now in the Center Section).
Live interaction is the best take-away, and who but you homebrewers can transmit that passion and love of the art and craft of brewing ?
Please volunteer your expertise to answer questions about craft brewing. John Hill (Broad Ripple Brewpub) and Anita Johnson (Great Fermentations) are creating an exhibit that will come alive with your presence. Time slots are 3 hours each as follows: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm, and 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
