West Side Sportsman Club BBQ Competition July 24

Post by Dutch » Thu Jun 24, 2010 5:00 pm

We will be running a fundraiser at the WSSC by selling Beer Brats & Burgers and chips. A great opportunity to raise money for the general fund.
We have many of the logistics set up but need a couple of small gas grills.
Can anyone help with loaners?
We wil talk about sales help during our regularly scheduled meeting June 30th.
We will also be doing brewing demonstrations and invite anyone to brew on the facility - electricity and water are available and we will be under a very large pavillion 40 X 100? You can drive right up to the site.
Anyone wishing to donate samples is also welcome as well. We will have our 7 tap jockey box and gas. I believe that ice will also be provided by the WSSC.

I'm going to miss the meeting tonight. For the Sportsmans event I do have the 7 tap box and manifold/line system that I will be bringing.

Sportsman's Brewing Demo July 24th.

Post by BM1 » Sat Jul 10, 2010 2:32 pm

I have agreed to brew at the event and I need a little info.I'm really good at missing details at meetings.

(1) Will electric be available?
(2) Will there be tables?
(3) Will ice be for sale on site?
(4) May I bring home-brew to drink?
(5) What about drainage? ( i only have 50' garden hose & 25' RV hose ).
(6) Bugs or Royalty? ( how will we be greeted ? )
You gonna stop whinin' 'bout that beer,or you gonna send it to me?

I'm in the process of carbonating a keg of the club barrel-aged old ale. Should I bring it?

Jeff,
I've got most of the corny from the Brewers Cup. I'll bring that and try to use up a partial keg instead of cracking open a new one.

Sure, we can use all the help we can get. We will be setting up starting at 8 AM or so. There will be at least one person brewing as a demo. We will be serving samples by corny [or bottles] as we will have the 7 tap jockey box. We will have ice, electric and water. We will also be acting as the main food concessionairre serving BRATS, STEAKBURGERS, CHIPS & HOT DOGS. We could use help serving and at times cooking?
We will be under FULL COVER in a large pole barn structure [less sidewalls]
