Old Ale dumped on the yeast cake from my Red Ale.
Never had a batch take off this quick, in 20 minutes it already had started
Video was started 20 minutes after adding O2.
Video is only 35 minutes long and already blowing off.

Inspired by Don, I also brewed an Old Ale and put on Irish Red yeast cake. After mashing Old Ale, I steeped out a 4 gal English Mild on the stove top with remaining grist. Pitched US 04 on the mild. Busy night!

Retired Old Ale / (Old Ale from HELL!)

Spent 2 hours getting my new Grain mill working right. Not too sure of the Captain Crush right now..

10 minutes into mash my pump goes south. (locked up every couple of minutes)
I upgraded the impeller a year ago and have had issues off and on since, reinstalled the original impeller and it worked just fine. It did take longer to start the prime but thats ok, it worked for 2 hours without any locking up,,,,,

The last 15 minutes left in boil I ran out of gas (had to go to two different stores to find someone that had LP in stock seems Thanksgiving was a big hit on LP)

This will be my best Old Ale yet (it has to be)

13# Marris Otter
2# Munich Malt (New for me in this beer)
2# L60
@3.5 oz. Simpsons Golden Oats
3 oz Chocolate Malt (added last 10 min of mash)
2 oz Willamette 90 min
1 oz Fuggles 15 min
1 oz Fuggles 0 min
5.0 gal out of my new Megapot 1.2 the boil was great.

1 pack NB NeoBritannia with 3 step starters 1pt/ 1pt/ 1qt/

Ferment 67 degs for 7 days
Condition 90 days
I should have it at the February meeting..
