Started to make an orval clone. After alcohol and boredom of the recipe set in, I'm not sure what it is. A little color, a lot of hops and brett brux. There's already shit growing on the surface after just 2 weeks. Can't wait! :)

Official name Blue Belgian Wit
After the challenge of getting wort out of plate chiller after it got stopped up with orange peels
"Orange you glad you didn't fuxk up the way I did Wit"

1/2# Rice Hulls
5 1/2# Pale
3 1/4# White Wheat
1# Oats
Water 1/2 Newburgh 1/2 RO for mash and Fly sparge
Mash at 1.4 qt/# till starch is converted at 154 F.

Drain @ 7 1/4 gal to kettle and boli for 60 min
60 min 1.25 oz. Hallertauer Mittelfrueh 4.4%
10 min 1 oz Ground Coriander seed
1 oz. Sweet orange peel (If using a pump put orange in hop bag)

5 1/4 gal out to fermenter
1 pack Wyeast 1056 American Ale with 1 qt. starter.

Fermenate at 68 F.

Thanks for Dutch for helping me get it out of the boiling kettle after stopping up the plate chiller and pump.

Never throw away your old brewing equipment - you'll never know when it will be needed.

Hey Art, is that recipe for that Oak-infused Scottish Shilling that you brought to the last meeting on here? Im interested in doing something like that and was wondering how much oak you used and what the boil or fermentation schedule for it was?

Brewing Cocoa Puff Porter tomorrow. Yes, that's one of the ingredients! :beer9
8# 2 row
1# flaked barley
1# rolled oats
1/2# crystal 60
1/2# chocolate malt
1/2# black malt
SO4 yeast
1 oz Perle hops 60 min.
1/2 oz Northern Brewer hops 60 min.
yeast nutrient 15 min
! box Cocoa Puffs cereal added to boil 60 min.

Mash grains 152F w/ 5.2 powder
ferment at 68F
Should go over well at the festivals!!
