Groups of 10 or more can get tickets for $15.00. Volunteers get in free. OVHA could buy a block of tickets and sell them individually for $15.00 if we want to. I won't be at the Woods house this weekend, but discuss it. I'm for anything we can do to bring in the people.

So you have the CO2, line and ball lock quick connects and all we need to bring is a keg of beer?
For everyone I haven't met, I used to live in Evansville and was a member of OVHA. After moving home to Jasper, and missing having good friends to brew with, I decided to try to start my own club. I am happy to say that I have been the president of the Dubois County Suds Club since 2006 (although I still miss my OVHA buddies)!

I'll bring my CO2 tank with 4 port manifold. I should have 3 beers in kegs.

1. Amarillo American Wheat
2. Poor Richard Extract from the Big Brew
3. Golden Ale

I'll grab some grain to display and maybe some old hops. I think I pretty much cleaned out the fridge of hops on the last batch, but I'll check. Could even make up a gallon of extract wort and have it fermenting on the table.

Just found out last night that you will need a bartenders license to serve at the event (duh). For anyone that doesn't have one, there are three types:

To serve beer, you will need a permit. Permit applications are available at the following site: [http://www.in.gov/atc/formsavailable.html]. You can serve with a copy of the application & check if yoiu haven't received your permit by Aug 19.

You can still participatete at the festival, but not serve without the permit.

Since SWIRCA hasn't scheduled a meeting of everybody, should we have a special club meeting to make sure we know what the club is doing?

The B.I.G. festival yesterday was bigger than ever despite extremely hot temperatures. The FBI & THC homebrew clubs served homebrew this year. Next year we will have plenty of prior notice if we want to serve also.

Talking to other brewery reps, it sounds like festival attendance overall is up dramatically this year. Let's hope it continues here.

Jack, a special meeting of those planning on participating at SWIRCA is a good idea. Maybe an informal get-together at Toroni's on Main sometime soon?

It looks like I'll need a few tickets, but as usual, people won't commit until Thursday. Can I just bring cash to the meeting and get as many tickets as I need for $15? (probably 5-8).

I've already picked up my order. I'd say unless you can get the other guys to get some tickets to get the group rate (10 or more), they will be $20 each. But, who knows, she might give you a break.

For anyone bringing beer to serve, please give me your beer info in this format so I can make up some little info sheets for patrons asking questions.

Example:

Beer Name: Golden Wheat Ale

Beer Style: Bavarian Weizen (BJCP 17A)

ABV: 5%

Brewer: Chris Norrick

Ingregients: 50% White Wheat, 50% German Pilsner Malt, German Hallertauer Hops

Style Notes: A traditional wheat-based ale from Southern Germany that is a specialty for summer consumption. Vanilla and clove-like phenols and fruity esters of banana are common. Commerical examples include: Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, Pschorr-Brau Weisse, Spaten Club-Weisse, Schneider Weisse, Julius Echter Weizenbier.

I'll have two beers to bring (both in cornies)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beer Name: Young Grasshoppa'

Beer Style: India Pale Ale (Extract)

ABV: 5.5%

Brewer: Justin Rumbach

Ingregients: 40L, Gold DME, Centennial (5 oz.), Simcoe (1 oz.)

Style Notes: India Pale Ale gets its name and unique style from British brewers who were making beer for export to India. This style has an intense hop flavor which was used to preserve the beer for the long voyage. India Pale Ale has a golden to copper color with a medium maltiness and body. The aroma is moderate to very strong. IPAs work especially well at cutting the heat of chili, vindaloo or Sichuan cuisine.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beer Name: Hey Porter, Hey Porter

Beer Style: Porter (extract)

ABV: 5%

Brewer: Justin Rumbach

Ingregients: Simpson's Chocolate, Simpson's Dark Crystal, Gold LME, Dark DME, Chinook (1 oz.), Cascade (1 oz.), Godiva Liqueur (at kegging)

Style Notes: Black or chocolate malt gives the porter it's dark brown color. Porters are well hopped and heavily malted. This is a medium-bodied beer. Porters can be sweet. Hoppiness can range from bitter to mild. Porters are often confused with stouts.
