Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
Thanks for the clarifications Justin. I'm getting excited about this. Evansvillians (and Hendersonians) please note - the meet-up time is 2pm Eastern [so 1pm Central.]

Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
Can I get a final count on the number of OVHAers planning to ride the bus?
My count has the group at over 60! Just trying to get a final number.
More details to come...

For everyone I haven't met, I used to live in Evansville and was a member of OVHA. After moving home to Jasper, and missing having good friends to brew with, I decided to try to start my own club. I am happy to say that I have been the president of the Dubois County Suds Club since 2006 (although I still miss my OVHA buddies)!

Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
Justin, it looks like we have 7 so:
Chris Alvey - staying
Bill Hunt (friend of Alvey's) - staying
Chris Norrick - ???
Don Heisler - staying
Jim Poore (possible) - ???
Dwayne DeLaney
Koosh23 (what's your name?, are you staying ???)
OVHA'ers - of you that have ??? above, are you planning on staying or going home from Jasper on Saturday? Regardless, we can use my house as a meet point for those sharing rides. I live in Newburgh not to far from 164 and we can park safely here.
If Bill goes, I will have one spot left in my car for anyone who is staying.
If you are seriously considering going and are not on this list, now would be the time to speak up please and thank you

Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
The running total now is 53 from our club and 9 from OVHA! If there is anyone else coming along, please let me know ASAP as we are actually approaching bu capacity!
A few notes -
- We will LEAVE at 2pm Eastern time from St. Joe's. Plan to arrive by 1:40pm to get loaded up. We want to be on the rode at 2pm.
- If you are staying overnight, feel free to give me a call and I can come pick you up at the Hampton. This way, your car is at the hotel and you can get a safe ride back by the bus driver when we get back.
- We will stay at Upland for the entire time. Most members felt that moving such a large group from the brewery to another bar would be a pain, so we will stay at Upland until about 8:30pm before heading back.
- While this is an AHA rally, we will NOT be required to join. I would like to ENCOURAGE everyone to do so though, as $33 is a small price to pay for a day of free drinks, food, Upland schwag, Zymurgy magazine, etc. This is a great way to support the homebrewing community in Indiana and the country.
- Please bring homebrew to share. Homebrewers from Bloomington, Louisville and possibly Indy plan to attend so it will be great time to try, and share, your homebrew.
- My cell number is (812) 827-3497. Keep it handy in case you are running late.
- The bus ride is $10 per person - please plan to pay on the day of the trip.
That's it for now - I am looking forward to hanging with everyone!

I'll be staying. Do I need to get a room reserved or does someone already have one ready to split?

Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
I have a room but it's already split. It's possible that a friend of mine might be going along and he'll be staying so I would say get a room with the possibility that we may have four 'stayers.'

I hate to admit that I'm obsessively filling fermentors at the moment and will miss this opportunity.

Word on the street is that Caleb will be tapping the first keg of a 23yr Pappy VanWinkle bourbon barrel aged chocolate stout for the rally!

I was planning to go, but I am not on the list. Is there still room on the bus?

Yes Jack, I'm sure there is still room .. I am not sure my friend Bill is going now, so you can be his spot at worst. It sounds like it's going to be a great time.

Re: Mark your calendars (Upland Trip)
Plenty of room left Jack! I will add you to the list.
The bus holds 78, more than I originally thought.
