Just received this email:

Cheers!

First, thank you for your participation in last year’s Brewers Cup! We hope that you are planning on entering again this year! The registration for the 2013 Brewers Cup opens on Friday, June 14th at 8AM (EST). The deadline for registration is Friday, June 28th by 7PM (EST).

You can enter online here (http://brewerscup.org/enter) and all rules and information can be found at http://www.brewerscup.org. There is one rule change the Brewers Cup Team would like to bring to your attention. This year we are capping the entries at the first 900 Homebrews and the first 400 Professional Brews. Professional brewers should also note the new rules for the Champion Brewer Award. So please, if at all possible, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER!

The drop off location is Sun King Brewery, 135 N College, Indianapolis, IN. Register as soon as possible and take/ship your entries to Sun King. You MUST have registered online by 7PM on Friday, June 28th and delivered your beers by 5pm on Saturday, June 29th at Sun King to be eligible. Printable can/bottle labels are available to allow you to print one label and simply copy it to make the total of three.

If you have any questions please review the information at http://www.brewscup.org. Good luck to all and we will see you at the Brewers Cup!

Best Wishes,

The Brewer’s Cup Team

Thanks John. I am having problems sending you a PM (they just keep going to my outbox). I have an entry I want to send with you. How would you like me to get them to you either today or tomorrow.

Note: PMs stay in your outbox until read by the recipient.

Also, John, I'll get with you this week for my entries.

Well I read the chapter in Brewing Better Beer about competitions but I apparently missed the part about making sure you have enough damn beer before you register. I filled two 12 oz bottles and got the dreaded foam sound about an ounce into the third. Damn you, Zoo Brew after party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sucks that I took up a spot, but I guess I learned a valuable lesson and donated 10 bucks to the Brewer's Cup.

I think this deserves another

Send it in any way. Just make note on your entry receipt you only have 2 bottles. You just won't be eligible for best of show.
This is how the judging breaks down "normally".
1st bottle is for initial judging and filling out your score sheet. If you do well, your beer would be pushed forward to "mini" best of show. Your 2nd bottle is used then to determine 1,2&3 place for the style you entered it in. Only 1st place in style advances to best of show. That is where the 3rd bottle is used.
If you get your score sheet back with a 1st place, then commence with the crying!
You gonna buy one, or be one?
.....I'm gonna be one!

Who ended up with the Olde Bourbon Ale? That needs to be submitted. I was going to send some of the un-barreled but it was completely drained at Zoo Brew.

I had 7 entries I was going to enter. After entering my first entry the website said

"The Home Brewer competition has now reached its maximum of 900 entries"

I ran into that too. Maybe they need to reduce the number of entries per person. On the bright side, more beer for me!

I think I was the 900th entry because I was able to submit one before I got that message. Were you able to get any entries submitted Jeff?
