Does the club want to take a jockey box and serve at the awards banquet?
I have a porter we could take.

Some of the other clubs do and it is cool thing to do, but I don't have any beer... :(

Who is riding with me and/or staying at my uncles' house?

The Dipples, Jim & John, & I are going. Ron Huck can't go. I haven't booked a room so I 'll need a place to stay. I can take up to 4. You are welcome to ride with us. Jim said if needed he could take up to 6.

I'll be driving up as well.
Anita from Great Fermentations called yesterday. I was to have some Brown Cow to serve at the awards banquet. Ooops, kind of over looked that one, but I did tell her the club was intending to serve some other beers. We will have a table now.
Chris, do you have the club signage?

My uncle says all are welcome just keep in mind the house is not very big. One spare room and two or three couches, some floor space for cots etc. It does have two bathrooms.

If we are all staying there (Dwayne is going up too I believe) then lets get the big Dipple truck and all go up together (minus the Mills'ses).

What time are we meeting at Jacks?

Congratulations go out to Dwayne for his 1st place winning Irish Coffee Stout, Don Heisler , and all those OVHA members that contributed to the 2nd place winning bourbon barrel aged old ale.

I won a 3rd place for my sweet potato beer, and a Blichmann beer gun as a door prize.

MECA again won Homebrew club of the year, and Michael Pearson of MECA won homebrewer of the year. Best of show was won with a Vienna lager by ???...didn't get the name, but I believe he's from Frankfurt?? IN.

Bier won brewery of the year, and Upland won best of show with a persimmon lambic.

Congrats Dwayne! Another year, another first place for an OVHA brewer. Eventually we'll close the gap with MECA. I'm sure we already have a more inclusive and philanthropic club. More recognition for our brewing endevours will surely follow.

Great job all. I'm not surprised - we've got loads of talent!

Congrats Dwayne! Best coffee stout in the state! Congrats also to John, bringing home awards seems is becoming a habit. Glad to see our Barrel aged old ale is hanging in there, too.

Great job guys!

They had an 11% increase in entries this year and I believe all that growth (plus some) was on the homebrew side because pro entries seemed low to me. Can you believe 1,070 something entries in total!!! Skill and a good deal of luck is involved in getting an award with a contest this size so congrats to all winners and I hope all that entered will get some good unbiased feedback on your scoresheets.

The full results should be posted on http://brewerscup.org/ soon.

Thanks to John Dipple for snagging me a bottle of the Pro BOS, the Upland Persimmon Lambic. I'll have it at the next meeting. We must make sure Charlie get's a double shot.
