I've always read you can just use a common brew cleaner. But then you need to fill it back up again. :)

Otherwise the wood can get screwed up.

If the barrel is empty can I use it until fall. I would like to age the rest of my stout in it.

Fossil guys were talking smack at the festival in Clarkville, IN on Saturday.

I think storing your stout in it is a good idea Jack. It keeps the barrel in use, until possibly fall-winter when the club could make another group beer.

From looking at all the pictures, we also have the best barrel stand. It seems to be the only one on wheels.

The club took second place in the comp! Congrats to all that helped make the brew day and beer a great success!

So where did we finish up with respect to the New Albanian wager?

We won that little wager. I did talk to some of the FOSSILS and they graciously conceded defeat. Arrangements have yet to be made for delivery.

Do we have any bottles of this that can be sent up to Jasper for the homebrew contest?

Since I'll have a corny cold for the WSSC BBQ contest this weekend, I can bottle enough for the Strassenfest entry. :beer8

I bottled up a six pack tonight and man I think my keg is way bourbony than the keg we had at Brewers Cup. It was the last keg out of the barrel. I did some experiments and blended it with plain old ale. I got all the way to 1/4 oaked and 3/4 plain and enjoyed it better than the straight stuff.
