I salute those who actually go the extra mile to perform and post data from experiments instead of just repeating what they have read that someone else has posted that they have read somewhere that someone else said......................

WOW! Nice experiment. He didn't use the WLP775 English Cider Yeast (the one I'm using) but gave the Wyeast Cider Yeast bad marks. I wish I would have done a split batch now with some Nottingham.

I think we need some taste tests and take some notes from all of ours.

List here what yeast you are using, if you added sugar, and what fermentation temp.

Dwayne, do you have any info on that crazy yeast you gave me? Like if it can handle 9% on an upcoming Tripel?

Here is a link describing some of their beers; all are at least 8%. Most are listed as some sort of Saison or Hybrid, but the guy that I got the yeast from says that it makes a good dubbel and tripel also.

I wish I would have done a split batch now with some Nottingham.
Ditto on the Nottingham. The yeast I'm using (Wyeast 4766 Cider) in my 5g batch was "not recommended" by the tester. Oh well, too late now! I didn't add any sugar and measured SG at 1.057 @ 68F.
