Yeah, Airgas sucks. This was posted on the Paintball shop's homepage.

We have closed our doors!
Due to the previous rising gas prices and the hardship of the current economy we had to close our doors.

A big Thank You to all our customers. Expecially those that became friends and are now considered family. Thank you all for making our 10 years of business a success.

Not sure if this place is filling large tanks, but it might be worth checking out.

Aqua Care is filling co2 tanks for $0.20/oz. They said they would fill any size tank even 20#, that works out to $64 for a 20# fill.... $30 at Airgas is the bargain. If you're pushing a lot of co2 you might want to consider a 50# tank. The more you buy the cheaper per pound it gets.

If you think co2 is expensive now wait until the politicians start taxing it in their cap and trade policy to slow global warming. Beer prices will go up. How much co2 do you think breweries emit in their fermentation process?

Evansville Welding Supply (I think that's the name) is where I go to get mine filled. You go down OakHill past Lowes, over the highway, and it's on this little road to the left. Often, I have to leave my tank overnight becasue there's only one guy who fills CO2 (or something.) It's reasonably cheap - I do not even remember the exact amount.

The road by the east side Lowe's is Oak Grove. Go east on Oak Grove and take the 1st left once you cross I-164. It is in the same industrial complex as Cintas.

That is only $16 for a 5 pounder. Still almost half of what AirGas is charging for a 5 pounder.
I understand that most wholesale suppliers don't want to undercut their retailers, but charging almost twice what the retailers charge is robbery.

Aqua Care is open 7 days a week so I was thinking of getting a small tank that they could fill as a spare, or a couple of small tanks as a spare for a spare....sometimes I forget to do things.

I've been wanting to put this together as a spare/travel tank instead of the 12g bulb squirter. http://www.schwedhelm.net/brew/biggasser.html

Airgas charged me $24.71 for a 5lb and $26.30 for a 20lb  . I started adding 4oz of sugar by weight to my kegs to carbonate them to help save on Co2.

Koorsen fills CO2 tanks. I paid less than $15.00 to fill a 20# tank. They also retest tanks for less than $10.00. I usually leave the tanks & pick them up later. They are on Hitch Peters Road

I just had a 20 lb tank and 5 lb tank filled at Koorsen. The total with tax was $30.66. I left mine this morning and picked them up this afternoon. They said usually have 20 and 50 lb steel tanks pre-filled for exchange and could do a 5 lb while you waited. Both of mine are aluminum, so I opted for the drop off.
