Hey Guys,

Just started. Did 3 kits. Doing first 'non kit' extract boil this weekend. One question. Where did these gnats come from?

Are they after my beer? Or is it just me?

I started the year out wondering where the ants came from. Then it was spiders and now it seems that every time I open my garage door, crickets and flies are looking for a winter home. I have the plague this year. Nice buddy christ. :D

ps, it's not the bugs after your beer, it's us.

Welcome Dave. I don't know where those gnats come from but at least they know what's good.

Welcome Dave. Our club meetings are held the last Wednesday of the month usually at Germania Maennenchor 916 N. Fulton Ave. Evansville, IN but Don't come to a meeting showing off your gnats....only your beer!
You gonna buy one, or be one?

I'll sure try to make it this month. Doubt if I'll have anything to show off just yet. But maybe next month. There isn't any drinking at these meetings, is there? If so, I might have to ride my bicycle and wear a helmet!

Looking forward to meeting people with similar interests.

Hay,Dave.Wrlcome to obsession. And those gnats might be fruit fies. They been drivin me nuts trying to keep them out of my house.Peppermint Oil will keep them away while you're brewing or bottling(may work on gnats too).Just put a few drops here and there around your work site, $3-$4.00 for a little bitty bottle of it but,so far,I've gotten 2 brew sessions and 1 bottling out of one bottle of it and still have enough left to do one more.I think any of the aromatic oils will do the same.
You gonna stop whinin' 'bout that beer,or you gonna send it to me?
Friends don't let friends brew drunk!

OK,

I am already addicted. Built a MLT yesterday. Too easy. Going to try AG this weekend. It's starting to get good.

Impressive! Plus, I see you have someone anxious to try your first AG batch.

I don't agree with your order, and you left out some really cool/needed things. Cconical fermenter, temp controlled fermentation chamber, brew sculpture, deep well sink, portable draft system or growlers, pumps, controllers, float switches, relays....
Just remember....rule number 1 for wives. Be like Jim Koch of Boston Beer Company. In the divorce, she gets the house, you keep the brewery!

Gnats? No problem. Spiders, I can deal with. But, during my last brewing session, my dog entered the brewery after rolling around on a dead animal. Should make a nice addition to my porter.
