Shout Out

Post by BREWsmith » Mon Mar 23, 2009 10:15 am

I'd like to thank Chris Norrick and Jimmy Pore for their sage advice and strong encouragement over the past few weeks. Yesterday I put my virgin brew, a all-grain Noble Trappist Ale, in the fermenter. I don't have unreasonable expectations as to the quality of this first batch, but making it through my first solo effort is reward enough.

Welcome to the all grain club. Just remember, the only person you have to impress with good beer is yourself. Brew what you like, what tastes good to you, the hell with everything else.
Oh, and please bring some to a club meeting for sharing. :beer9
You gonna buy one, or be one?

Thanks so much to Don Heisler for gratiously procuring a Barley Crusher for me this past weekend while attending the event in Indy. I'd also like to thank Jim Pore for parting with some grains and hops, and allowing me to observe Mike inverting sugar (I enjoyed sampling from the Pore Brewery product line as well).

I've been amazed at the generosity of OVHA members in terms of time, knowledge, and financial resources! It speaks volumes to the OVHA leadership and the homebrewing fraternity.

Dwayne, thanks so much for your coffee roasting demonstration yesterday evening. Also, thanks for sending some coffee home with me. As a matter of fact, I'm sipping on some as I write this. It's delicious!
