Indiana Homebrewers' Recipe Collection

Post by jefrey3 » Sun Aug 12, 2007 8:43 am

I received the following email. Anyone interested in contributing?

Hello Homebrew Clubs of Indiana,

My name is Gary Powell, and I am with the Bloomington Hop Jockeys. If
you received this e-mail, your e-mail address was somewhere on your
homebrewing club's webpage, on the Indianabeer.com site, or on the AHA
Indiana club listing. If you are not who this is supposed to go to,
please forward this along, or delete this.

I'm not all that good at salesmanship, so I will essentially get to the
point of my e-mail.

I think it would be neat to have an Indiana Homebrewers Recipe book. We
have so many excellent homebrew clubs and homebrewers in Indiana, it
would be nice to trade recipes, technique suggestions, ideas, etc. with
one another. It would also be an interesting way to represent your
homebrew club and your group's specialties and skills.

This idea occurred to me because I happen to work for a publishing
company and I have all the equipment necessary to make a pretty smart
looking book.

So, I'm sure the first question that comes to mind is, "Well, what's in
it for Gary?" I don't plan to sell this with any royalty attached. The
book, if made, will cost somewhere in the area of $5-7 with shipping.
I'm basically doing this to see what other homebrewers in Indiana do, to
get suggestions, and to share some of the recipes Liz (my girlfriend)
and I have made.

If you wish to contribute to the project, my wish is to get a photo of
the homebrewer who created the recipe, maybe a blurb about them, the
recipe, and a high resolution image of the homebrew club's logo.

If you have any questions, feel free to reply to this e-mail at
theothergarypowell@gmail.com. If your group isn't that technologically
oriented, reply and ask for my mailing address and I can transcribe the
recipes just the same.

I don't know how well else to describe the project. If this project is
to happen, I will need to get a minimum of 32 pages thrown together.
When it's made, I'll send out an announcement explaining where to
purchase the book.

I apologize for spamming the lot of you if you are disinterested in this
project.

Gary Powell
